William J. Cottrill Sr., 78, of Oakdale, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2023, in St. Clair Hospital.
William was born on July 12, 1944, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Chester and Hannah Kenne Cottrill.
William was an elevator maintenance man for Local 6. Mr. Cottrill spent 40 years with the Local 6 and he really enjoyed what he did. William also worked along side his wife, Margaret, in their catering business, Distinctive Catering. Together they worked as a team for 25 years out of their home. Margaret was the cook and William was in charge of making sure all the dishes were clean.
There was nothing that William loved more than his family. They always brought so much happiness to his life and filled his heart with so much love. He would not have made it through these last couple of years without the help of his family. They cared for him and Margaret when they needed it the most, and William was always so thankful to all of them for that.
Surviving is the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Margaret A. Duffy Cottrill, children, Debrah L. Cottrill, William J. (Sherry) Cottrill, Jr., and Michael E. (Christine) Cottrill, grandchildren, Whitney Cottrill, Angelina Cottrill, and Maxwell Cottrill and sisters, Nancy (Bob) Podrat Chittister and Sandy (Joe) Brown.
