Obituary for Vera E. Miller (Felton)

On Wednesday, December 28, 2022, Vera E. (Felton) Miller, 96, of Midway, passed away peacefully, following a brief respite in Country Meadows Retirement Assisted Living.

On April 7, 1926, in Midway, Vera was born, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Campbell) Felton. In 1944 she graduated from Midway High School, and on January 31, 1947, Vera married Gerald "Jerry" Miller, who passed away December 30, 2016, a month before their 70th wedding anniversary. Vera was a life long member of Midway Center United Presbyterian Church.

All of her life, Vera found great contentment in being a homemaker. She loved baking, knitting, and watching baseball and football; she was a Steelers football fanatic and preferred watching their games alone.

Vera’s greatest passion was spending time with her family, who became the impetus and core of her long life.

Surviving are her daughter, Susan (Jeff) Ryan, granddaughters, Stephanie (Ryan) Davies and Jessica (Brenen) LaGard, great-grandchildren, Trig and Luke LaGard, Tessa Davies and Layla Brewer, sisters-in-law, Kathy (Howard) Felton and Rhoda (Wells) Miller, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Along with her parents, Vera is preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald “Jerry” Miller, and brothers; Harry Dean, William, Howard, Kenneth, Thomas, Ralph “Rass” Felton, and sister, Hilda Cauchie.
