Obituary for Stella V. Hanzel (Holeva)
Stella V. Hanzel 99 of McDonald, South Fayette Twp. passed away on June 23, 2022 at Friendship Village, Upper St. Clair, her home for the past four and half years.
She was born on September 15, 1922 one of thirteen childern to the late Bartholomew and Anna (Kleczynski) Holeva. Along with her parents Stella was the last of siblings. She was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart Stanley Hanzel (2011). Surviving are her children, Carol (Vincent) Sanfilippo, Stanley (Roberta) Hanzel, Barbara (John) Toth, and John Hanzel, 9 grandchildren,
17 great grandchildren.
Stella was a member of St. Alphonsus church in McDonald. She loved cruising and traveling. She also loved the game of Scrabble, bowling, polka dancing, and gardening. Stella was a great mother, an excellent baker of homemade pies and breads. She was so looking forward to her upcoming 100th birthday and party.
We (family) are especially grateful to all the wonderful people who took care of her at Friendship Village.
