Obituary for Robert G. Grimm

Robert G. Grimm, 87, of North Fayette Township, passed away on, Friday, October 14, 2022 in Heritage Valley - Sewickley.

Bob was born on August 2, 1935, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Joseph and Amelia (Hubert) Grimm.

Bob was an all around “Mr. Fix it”, there was never a task that stood in his way. He was frequently seen roaming the aisles at Harbor Freight, Lowes, Home Depot and Moore's Hardware. When Bob wasn't roaming the aisles of hardware stores, he enjoyed playing softball, especially in the Senior Men’s League in Marco Island, FL and the old St. Martin’s Catholic league in Crafton Heights. Bob also enjoyed boating and spending time at Deep Creek Lake in Maryland where he loved to play his patriotic music and frequented the Honi Honi. He enjoyed snowmobiling and going on frequent snowmobiling trips to the Upper Penisula of Michigan and the mid-west. He also loved to drive his farm tractors around his property. Bob was an avid card player and always enjoyed a good poker game and playing gin.
Before retiring, Bob owned and operated Sterling Storage & Distributing Company, a trucking and warehousing business for than 50 years.

Surviving is his loving wife of 66 years, Rita J. (Dierker) Grimm, children, Linda J. Franz (Joe), Robert J. Grimm (Jana), grandsons, Joe Franz (Cheryl) and Michael Franz (Ashley), great grandchildren; Adyson, Brooklyn, Blake, and Briella Franz, siblings; Betty Wuenstel, Timothy Grimm (Marlene) and Joan Pollard, brother-in-law, William Eberhardt, sister-in-law, Florence Grimm and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his siblings; Joseph T. Grimm, Lois Eberhardt and brothers-in-law, Paul Wuenstel and Jack Pollard.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 3-8 p.m. at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 305 Main Street, Imperial (724-695-2800). A Blessing Service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Columbkille Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to, Alzheimer’s Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 2385 Carson Street, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15023.

The family would like to extend a gracious thank you to the medical staff at Heritage Valley -Sewickley for their outstanding care and love that they shared for Robert.
