Obituary for Officer Jerrod Joseph Withrow

Officer Jerrod Joseph Withrow, 43, of Imperial, North Fayette Township, passed away with his loving family by his side on June 11, 2021, in his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jerrod was born on March 19, 1978, in Spokane, Washington, the only son of Randy and Gail (Dickinson) Withrow, of Washington State.

Jerrod was a graduate of Eastern Washington University with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. Jerrod has been in law enforcement since 2000 where he began his career with the Idaho State Police. Jerrod met and fell in love with Lisa where they worked in the Spokane County 911 Center. After moving across the country and a few different moves, he and Lisa ended up back in Pittsburgh. Jerrod was hired by the Pittsburgh Police Department in 2011. After a few years there, he was hired by the Mt. Lebanon Police Department in 2014 where he served as a patrol officer. Jerrod has been a member of the South Hills Critical Incident Response Team and was recognized along with his team for their response to the Tree of Life Synagogue in October 2018. Jerrod was a part of special brotherhood, not only would he do anything for a fellow officer, but they would also do anything for him.

His heart bled blue for his brothers, but above all he was a son, husband, and the most loving father, to 3 beautiful boys. Jerrod married his “baby”, Lisa 16 years ago. Their love story was beautiful and very blessed. There were many laughs and tears, but a strong and passionate love that will never end. Lisa was Jerrod’s true love; they were made for each other. Although Jerrod is no longer on Earth, their love story still continues. Jerrod and his wife taught their boys how to be strong. Strength was a core value of their household. He showed his boys strength when he coached his youngest son in soccer and battled cancer as his family and his whole community cheered him on. There are truly no words to describe the impact Jerrod left in everyone’s lives. He was an outstanding person and the dedication he had to his country, community and family will never go in vain. He left a little piece of himself with everyone he met, and the world is truly a better place because of Officer Jerrod Withrow.

Surviving is his loving wife, Lisa (Macintosh) Withrow, his 3 boys; James Faso III, Brayden, and Ben Withrow, parents Randy and Gail Withrow, sisters Jamie (Chris) Spotts and Stacy (James) Hill, parents-in-law, Paul (Kathie) Macintosh, brothers-in-law, Lance Macintosh and Eric Macintosh, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and all his brothers in blue, especially the Mt. Lebanon Police Department family.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from 12 Noon -6 p.m. at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., and Crematory, 305 Main St., Imperial (724-695-2800).
