Obituary for Marcel Norman Rieser

Marcel N. Rieser, 93, of Oakdale, North Fayette Township, formerly of South Carolina, passed away in his home on, Saturday, March 25, 2023.
 
Mr. Rieser was born on October 8, 1929, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Emil and Ida Rieser.
 
Marcel was a proud United States Army Veteran. Mr. Rieser served time in the Korean War and was a part of the Liberty Ship crew. Marcel worked for McGraw-Edison as an engineer, where he retired from. In his free time, Marcel enjoyed fishing and golfing. After moving back to PA, he golfed every year at Scally’s Pitch and Putt with his daughters. His last golf game was in the fall of 2022 and he was looking forward to another round this spring. Marcel was a treasured 7-year member and volunteer at Imperial LifeSpan, which he considered his second family. They were all so kind to Marcel and gave him the friendships he needed. Every Sunday, Marcel would gather with his daughter and have a family dinner. He cherished this time and especially enjoyed her homemade cooking. He also looked forward to his weekend visits with his stepson Dan and his family.
 
Surviving are his children; Richard (Keiko) Rieser, Cynthia (Mike) Ireland, Kimberly Rieser, and Steven (Robin) Rieser, step sons, James (Jannelle) Fazio and Daniel (Kathie) Fazio,  11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
 
Along with his parents, Marcel is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Mae Fortunato, second wife, Gale Lynne Doernberger, and third wife, Shirley Mae Alsup, and one brother and one sister.
 
A Memorial Service and burial will be held at a later date. All arrangements are entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Noblestown Rd. (724-693-2800).
