Obituary for Lila Mae Yamber

Lila Mae Yamber, 83, of Oakdale, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, in St. Clair Hospital.

Lila was born on August 23, 1939, in Oakdale, a daughter of the late Andy and Sarah (Wasson) Yamber.

Miss Yamber was a devout member of Noblestown United Presbyterian Church. Although, just being a member does not describe the dedication that Lila Mae had to the church. She was more than happy to volunteer for every church event that was happening and always went above and beyond to care for those in attendance. Lila served as a Sunday school teacher and also worked as the past treasurer for the church. Her caring nature reached beyond the church doors and into her home and work place. In her home Lila loved to cook and care for her best friend and brother, James Yamber, who survives. Together they enjoyed spending their lives together and also crocheting, knitting and sewing. Miss Yamber retired from the March of Dimes as their marketing director, where she worked for a number of years. Lila’s caring hand was evident when she chose her final place to work. Helping raise money for babies and their mothers was something she was so proud to do. Lila Mae’s skills in marketing came in handy for more than one organization, she also worked for Westinghouse Credit as their marketing manager for 37 years. Beginning her journey at Westinghouse Credit, Lila started as a secretary. Over the many years Lila, worked the hardest she ever had and it all paid off.
