Obituary for Larry S. Szymanski

Larry S. Szymanski, 79, of Oakdale, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at his home.

Larry was born on April 17, 1943, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Joseph and Olga Mamula Szymanski.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bonnie Burner Szymanski.

Mr. Szymanski was a retired salesman for the railroad industry. In his free time, Larry loved to play golf.
He enjoyed getting out on the course with his sons and friends and playing a round or two. Larry was a talented golfer, he even had a hole in one at Seven Oaks Country Club on hole 14. Another large part of Larry’s life was fishing. He loved taking trips to Lake Erie with his sons and spending the day on the water Walleye fishing in their boat. Larry enjoyed being a husband, dad and grandfather. He cherished all the activities that he had with his family, especially their times in the outdoors. Larry’s four-legged companion, Konah, was his confidant and never left his side, not even in the end.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his sons, Lawrence (Mindy) Szymanski and Richard (Valerie)
Szymanski, grandchildren, Ethan, Brooke and Riley Szymanski, and siblings, Judy (Eddie) Sclarski and Kenny (Roberta) Szymanski.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Noblestown Road, Oakdale (724-693-2800). A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 7p.m. at the funeral home.
