Obituary for Karen S. Werner Walthour (Magee)

Karen S. (Magee) Werner Walthour, 77, of Imperial, Findlay Township, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, in St. Clair Hospital.

Karen was born on January 20, 1946, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late, John and Alice (Dublin) Magee.

Karen was a retired baker for Walmart. She worked at the Walmart in Weirton, Washington and most recently Robinson. Karen was an avid Pittsburgh Sports fan, she never missed watching a baseball or football game. She was also a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, always rooting on her “boyfriend”, Patrick Mahomes. Karen was so excited knowing they were going to the Superbowl and she was adamant that even in the hospital, she would not miss the game. Although sports were a huge part of her life, there was nothing more important to Karen than her family. Karen was the most devout mother that you could ever find. She was kind, loving and at times quite the jokester, but one thing she never joked about, was the love she had for her family. Her quick sense of humor was followed with her bright smile and contagious laugh, that always filled the room. Karen never missed a beat. She was always there when anyone and everyone needed her, being a mother to anyone that crossed her path. Karen enjoyed traveling with her family too. She went on every trip her kids and grandkids went on, even tagging along with her nieces and nephews at times too. Her lively spirt and loving heart were something that is not always found and if you had the pleasure of meeting Karen, you know just how truly special she was.

Surviving are her children, Beth Pusatere, Jeff (Lisa) Werner, David (Laura) Werner and Amy (Richard) Gontas, grandchildren, Robert (Nicole Sitzman) Pusatere, Christine (Ashish Subba) Pusatere, Lena Werner, Alicyn Gontas and Lorna Werner, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with her parents, Karen is preceded in death by her first husband, John Werner, her second husband, Bernie Wathour, sisters, Betty Jean Matthews and Lois Schader.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, February 19, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Noblestown Road, Oakdale (724-693-2800).
