Obituary for Joseph F. Zawacki

Joseph F. Zawacki, 73, of Imperial, North Fayette Township, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in his home.

Joe was born on May 14, 1950 in McDonald, a son of the late Joseph and Gladys Zawacki.

Mr. Zawacki was a retired employee for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He worked numerous different jobs over the years for the commonwealth, but retired as a dietary employee in a Mental Health Hospital. Joe was an extremely hard worker. He learned all the skills he knew from his many different jobs over the years and just tinkering around the house. Joe took great pride in his home. Tending to his yard, making sure his grass lines were extra sharp and also planting the perfect vegetables. One of Joe’s many jobs was a lawn care business and he even took great pride in others yards too. When it came time for the cooler weather, Joe enjoyed still being outdoors, hunting or splitting wood to prepare for his winter. During the winter, Joe heated his home with an old-fashioned wood burner. While it may have turned everything in their house black, according to his wife, Betty, she loved seeing how much joy it brought him.
