John A. Perko, 92 of McDonald, PA, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Southmont of Presbyterian Seniorcare.
He was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA, son of late Albert Perko and Isabella (Andreini) Perko.
John was married for sixty years to the love of his life Dolores (Highfield), who preceded him in death.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Duquesne University where he was a pitcher for the baseball team. John was an avid sportsman who enjoyed all sports including hunting and fishing. Later in life he became an excellent golfer where he recorded 3 hole-in-ones. Upon graduation, John worked as a supervisor in the oil and gas industries for both Texaco and Boron Oil Companies. John was a Born-again Christian who was very active in serving the Lord.
He is survived by his son, David Perko and wife Elaine, of McDonald and his granddaughter, Natalie Perko of Pittsburgh.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Sue Perko and his two brothers, Raymond Perko of Riversville, WV and Donald Perko of Moon Township.
Friends will be received 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, (724-926-2800). A Service will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
