Obituary for Jane J. Culley (Hamilton)

Lona J. (Hamilton)Culley, 82, of Imperial, North Fayette Twp., passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Culley was born on May 16, 1940, in Emporium, PA, a daughter of the late David and Leola (Allison) Hamilton.

Lona was a member of Atlasburg Presbyterian Church. She was also a retired CNA for Canonsburg Hospital, where she dedicated herself to helping others for many years. Lona’s helping hand did not end when she retired though, Mrs. Culley was always checking on others to see how she could help. There was never a time when Lona would sit down, there was always some type of work to be done, and she made sure that it got done! Lona was the most hardworking and talented woman, there was never a job that she could not do. And once summertime came, Lona made sure that her grass was always perfectly cut, she took immense pride in her yard. Lona was very well known for her hard work, but also known for being a self-taught musician. Mrs. Culley never took a music lesson in her life but could play the organ and a handful of other instruments.

Surviving is her son; Tim (Marsha Maga) Culley of Tennessee, sister, Clara Shaw of Rochester, PA, grandchildren, Philip, Lori and Jesse Culley, and several great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Lona is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Culley, sons, Bill and Thomas Culley, and brothers and sisters.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald (724-926-2800). A Service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Robinson Run Cemetery.
