Obituary for James “Mike” Falconer Sr.

James “Michael” Falconer, Sr., 71, of McDonald, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Haveloch Commons, McDonald.

Mike was born on September 27, 1951, in Sturgeon, a son of the late William Joseph and Evelyn (McLean) Falconer.

Mr. Falconer was a kind, caring, and generous man. Mike was his best self when he was with people he loved. His jokester personality left everyone Mike met wanting to be his friend. Being active in his community at Haveloch was something that kept his spirit going. Mike loved meeting with all his friends there daily and catching up. A large part of Mike’s life was spent at Crossroads Church in Oakdale. Mike was a member of their choir, an usher, and loved being around his church family. The dedicated man that Mike was, he made sure to never miss a choir practice or service. Mike’s knee replacement couldn’t keep him down, even when told to take it easy.

There was truly nothing more important to Mike than his family. Being a father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother were the most important roles in his life. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and, most recently, great-granddaughter. He dedicated himself to his family and always made sure they were cared for. When someone needed help, he was always there. Mike loved taking trips with family and spending any quality time he could with them. Mike treasured his recent trip to Baltimore with his nine siblings and to St. Thomas, VI for his grandson’s wedding.

Surviving are his children; James “Mike” (Noelle) Falconer Jr, Mandi Falconer, and Kayla (Jason) Stack, grandchildren; Andrew (Gina) Falconer, Autumn Falconer, Hope, Gage, and Wyatt Stack, great granddaughter, Elena Noelle Falconer, siblings; Patti (Bob) Longstreth, Lisa (Mike) Vugrinovich, William “Backhoe” (Terra) Falconer, Karen (late Fred) Longstreth, Denise (Terry) Harbison, Joseph (late Nancy Stevens) Falconer, Anita (Bill) Moroz, John “Moss” (Cheryl) Falconer, Debbie (Mark) Openbrier, along with numerous, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, February 3, 2023, between 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald (724-926-2800). A Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
