Obituary for Jacqueline A. Tomikel (Marlett)

Jacqueline A. (Marlett) Tomikel, 90, of Oakdale, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, in Heritage Valley – Sewickley.

Jackie was born on March 17, 1932, in Muse, a daughter of the late Earl and Blonda (Hartman) Marlett.

Ms. Tomikel previously worked in her town as a cook at Boock’s Bar, in Oakdale. Jackie enjoyed spending time with her local friends at the bar and even down at the Sturgeon AA club, where she was the past President of the Women’s Auxiliary Club. Jackie was a down to Earth type of woman. She loved life and you could always tell that about her, especially when she was dancing. Jackie was worry free when her favorite songs would come on and she could move her feet.

There was nothing more important to Jackie than her family. She loved taking camping trips with them. In typical Jackie style, these trips were not “glamping”, they roughed it. Camping in tents with her family was something so special to her. They made memories together, that will now last her family a lifetime. Camping was not the only activity that she enjoyed with her family. Jackie loved going around town with them, especially her daughter, Pam. Jackie was the most caring mother and grandmother. She was the type of mother and grandmother that carried full size pictures of all the monumental occasions that occurred in her family’s life, just so she could show everyone. She was so proud of her family and so honored to be loved by them.

Surviving are her children, Pamela (the late Archie) Barron, Lawrence Tomikel, Jr., Linda (Joe) Biber, and Eric (Darlene) Tomikel, grandchildren, Jennifer Biber, Jodi (Mike) Pecic, Kim Biber, Bryan Tomikel and Melissa (Chad) Rocheleau, great grandchildren, Amelia and Olivia Pecic and Emma Charlier.

Along with her parents, Jackie is preceded in death by her first son, Ronald “Ronnie” Tomikel and brother, Earl “Bud” Marlett, Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 2:00pm at the Sturgeon Athletic Association, 7561 Noblestown Rd., Sturgeon, PA 15082.
