Obituary for Jack Maga

In his home in Moon Township, Jack Maga, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on August 1, 2021.

Mr. Maga was born in McDonald on August 27, 1928, a son of the late John and Jenny (Lauff) Maga. Jack was a Korean War Veteran and retired General Foreman for Shenango Steel.

Jack was the ultimate outdoorsman and known to plan his days and weeks around his favorite hunting and fishing seasons. When he wasn’t in the field or on the water, he enjoyed loafing around and regaling his friends and family with tall tales from seasons past, ending each story with a trademark toothy smile and hearty laugh. Jack’s other great passion was fanatically following ALL of Pittsburgh’s world champion sports teams. Yes, he even watched each Buccos game until the end.

Surviving are his children, Cynthia G. Navarra of Bridgeville and Jack W. Maga of Clinton, grandchildren, Bradley Navarra, Lindsay Urschler, Mackenzie Maga, and great-grandchild Ellie Grace, eight nieces and nephews, and favorite neighbor Mike.

Jack is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Grace (Peters) Maga, whom he married in 1956, and his siblings Bob, Sonny, Margaret, and Caroline.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 10 – Noon, at Thomas-Little Funeral Home in McDonald, PA (314 W. Lincoln Ave - 724-926-2800). The service will begin at noon in the funeral home, and Interment will follow at Robinson Run Cemetery.
