Obituary for Gloria Ellene Grant (Durrant)

Gloria Ellene (Durrant) Grant, 95, of Mckees Rocks, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the Life Pittsburgh Facility located in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania.

Gloria was born on March 6, 1929 in May Pen, Jamaica, a daughter of the late Frederick Greensword and Hilda (Durrant) Powell.

Gloria was a homemaker all her life. She was a very dedicated woman, especially to all the children in her life. Gloria was devoted to her church, Monroe Street United Methodist, in Toledo, Ohio. She was very active with the children’s ministry within the church. Children gave her so much joy and she had such a profound love for them. She could always keep up with the children, too. They kept her mind and heart young.

Gloria began her earlier years in Jamaica working as a bookkeeper. After some time she relocated to Montreal, Canada where her sister was living at the time. It was in Montreal that she met her late husband, Nathan. The two loved living life together and enjoyed their many years together.

Surviving are her loving sons, Garfield (Antoinette) Grant and D.M. Grant, granddaughter, Sydni (Jake) Goldman, her brother Robert Rennalls, and nephews Mark Keane, Paul Rennalls, Jeffrey McCarthy, and niece Karla McCarthy.

Along with her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by her loving husband Nathan Grant, siblings Kathleen McCarthy, Edith Rose Rennalls, and niece Sandra Kassa.

A Burial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery and Arboretum, 1502 W. Central Ave., Toledo, OH 43606.
