Obituary for Geraldine Selinsky (White)

Geraldine (White) Selinsky of Sarasota, Florida died on October 3, 2022. Born December 19, 1935, in Imperial, daughter of the late John L. and Helen (Morflak) White. Born and raised in Imperial, she was a graduate of West Allegheny High School, class of 1954. She was a longtime resident of Glenwillard, PA.

She was a Girl Scout Leader of Allegheny County Troop 1013, ways and means, Chairman of the Local PTC and columnist for the Coraopolis Record. Retiring in 1991 as an unemployment Claims Examiner for the PA Department of Labor and Industry, having worked in both the Carnegie and Ambridge offices. After moving to Florida, she was employed part time at Nielson Media Research rating TV programs and was assistant leader of Girl Scout Troop 702 Girl Scouts of the Gulf Coast. She was a volunteer tutor at Myakka River Elementary School and Maragaret Kinnan Elementary in Manatee County, she was an avid antique collector and world traveler. A supporter and fundraiser for numerous charities benefiting children.

Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Selinsky and one infant daughter, Cheryl Lynn, two infant sisters, Joy Ann, and Jean Evelyn. Sisters, Helen “Sis” Molchan and Sharon White, brothers, Donald and Frank “Bud” White and surviving is brother, Russell “Wick” White, Coraopolis, PA.

Surviving are her children, Tammy Pettit, Raccoon Twp., Aliquippa, PA, Thomas Selinsky Jr., Tidioute, PA, and Kelly Weaver of Bradenton, FL. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren children.

Viewing will be at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 305 Main St., Imperial (724-695-200) on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from 11-1 p.m. A service will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hopewell Hebron Cemetery.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers a memorial contribution be made to one of the charities that she supported, benefiting disabled children, Easterseals, March of Dimes, Make A Wish, or Smile Train.
