Obituary for George A. Fish

George A. Fish, 76, of Oakdale, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in his home.

George was born on April 30, 1947, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late George and Mary Adams Fish.

Mr. Fish was a retired switchman for Verizon, where he worked for 35 years. He loved surrounding himself with his family, they were the most important people in his life. George was lucky enough to find his true love, Barbara, whom he married 58 years ago. The two created the family and life they had always dreamt of. It was filled with travel, laughter, happiness and so much love. George and his wife loved to travel together. Whether it was to Florida for the winter or the 20 some cruises they enjoyed. Being together was their favorite place to be.

Being a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, were George’s favorite roles. He cherished his family so dearly and all the time he was blessed to spend with them. His children were his rocks. They gave him such an immense amount of pride, as he watched them grow their own families. As George became a grandfather and great grandfather his heart just continued to grow. There truly was no greater love than what George shared for his family.

Surviving is his best friend and loving wife, Barbara Bonura Fish, children, Barbara Lynn Chauvet, George A. Fish and Pamela M.
