Obituary for Elaine Kuhn (Harju)

Elaine (Harju) Kuhn, 87, of Imperial, Findlay Twp., passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, in her home.

Elaine was born on September 12, 1934, in Keweenaw County, Michigan, a daughter of the late Emil and Effie (Taivalkoski) Harju.

Mrs. Kuhn was a retired secretary for Dycro. Although working all her life, Elaine was very involved in her family’s lives. As her children were growing up Elaine served as a Den mother and a Girl Scout leader. Her children’s activities were not the only part of their lives she was involved in. Mrs. Kuhn was very involved in the school’s PTA and also worked as the school nurses aid for some time. The active person that Elaine was, she did not just stop there. Elaine was very involved in her church, Brookfield Assembly of God. She was also a founding member of Living Christ Lutheran Church in Wisconsin. Later in life Elaine enjoyed exploring and traveling with her late husband, Bob Kuhn. They loved finding a new restaurant and enjoying a meal together. When Elaine’s grandchildren were born, her whole life was complete. She loved being a grandma and it was the most special role she ever had.

Surviving are her children, Renee (Craig) Venske, Jeff (Betsy) Zotcavage and Karen (Peter) Smith, grandchildren, Jessica, Brent, Donald, Angela and Amanda, great grandchildren, Austin, Anthony, Ella, Paige, Blake, Ethan, and Amelia, step-daughter, Debbie, step-grandchildren, Matthew and Kyle, and step-great grandchild, Amelia.

Along with her parents, Elaine is preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Zotcavage (2001), her second husband, Robert H. Kuhn (2009), and siblings, Millie and Bob.
