Obituary for Donald G. "Don" DeCooman

Donald G. DeCooman, 93, of Martinsburg, formerly of Flagler Beach, Florida and from Ellwood City, passed away on, Thursday, February 22, 2024 in The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg.

Don was born on December 14, 1930, in Huston, PA, a son of the late John B. and Marie L. Shinn DeCooman.

Don was a retired steel worker. He began his carrer as a toll collector on the PA Turnpike, later working for Blaw-Knox, and Babcock and Wilcox at Kopple and Beaverfalls. He loved being outdoors and greatly enjoyed his time living in both Ellwood City and Florida. Don had a very gifted green thumb. He was a talented gardener and always had the most amazing produce and gorgeous flowers to show all of his hard work had paid off.

Surviving are his siblings, Joan (the late Richard) Tewell, Raymond Lee (Phyllis) DeCooman, Louis Joseph (Barb) DeCooman, William “Bill” (Betty) DeCooman and Linda DeCooman-Suter, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents, Don is preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend, Anna Klose DeCooman

All arrangements are private at this time and entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald (724-926-2800). A Burial will occur at Locust Grove Cemetery, Ellwood City, PA at a later date.
