Obituary for Dolores "Dolly" Poznak (Romestan)

Dolores “Dolly” (Romestan) Poznak, 91, of Midway, passed away with her family by her side, on Friday, April 29, 2022, in Mercy Hospital.

Dolly was born on January 4, 1931, in McDonald, a daughter of the late Louis and Germaine (LeFebvre) Romestan.

Dolly was a member of St. Alphonsus R.C. Church in McDonald. She married the love of her life, the late Theodore “Ted” Poznak and together they raised a beautiful family. Dolly was so proud of her kids, being a homemaker all her life she was able to spend many hours with them. She enjoyed taking care of her family, but always made sure they knew how to care for themselves, especially in the kitchen. Mrs. Poznak loved to cook. She was constantly in the kitchen, and with a family as big as hers, there was always enough to feed a small village. Most famously, Dolly was known for her homemade gullets. She spent hours every year preparing gullets to give to all her friends and family. Mrs. Poznak was the most caring, loving, and thoughtful woman you could ever find. She took care of everyone that walked through her door. And when it was time to go, Dolly sent you with a hug, a “Love you” and hopefully, a bag of gullets.

Surviving are her children; Judy (Mark) Kramer, Sandy (the late Bill) Wauthier, Mary (Dom) Pulice, Bonnie (Ken) McLain, Gloria (Bob) Trolley, Peggy Albert, Cathy (Larry) Clark, Teddy (Rosemary) Poznak, 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Along with her parents, Dolly is preceded in death by her loving husband, Theodore “Ted” Poznak (2014), son-in-law, William Wauthier, grandson, Andrew Trolley, siblings, Lois Snatchko, Donna Mae Brookshire, Jules, Alfred R., Melvin, Elmer, Marcel, Ralph, Louis, Billy, and George Romestan.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 12-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald (724-926-2800). A Mass will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish – St. Alphonsus Church. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
