Obituary for Caryll J. Linck (Ehlers)

Caryll J. Linck, 84, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of McDonald, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2023.

Caryll was born on September 7, 1939, in Waynesboro, PA, a daughter of the late Ernest P. and Arbelia (Smith) Ehlers.

Mrs. Linck was the former co-owner of NAPA stores in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Caryll was known for her time in the stores with her late husband, Gene. The two of them loved seeing all the customers and helping everyone who walked through their doors.

Caryll was a very giving person. She and her husband were very involved with Lions Club International, specifically with the clubs in McDonald and Canonsburg. Caryll served as the Lioness past President as well as the Lions Club past President. Serving others was a great attribute of Caryll’s. She lived her life for others and was a very selfless person. Caryll also served as a deacon at her former church Calvary Presbyterian Church in McDonald.

There was truly nothing in this world Caryll loved more than her family. Caryll and Gene were the perfect husband and wife. They led a great example for all couples young and old, of how to cherish life and to love each other. Caryll enjoyed cooking for Gene and anyone who would visit their home. Every evening Caryll could be found sitting down for her sweet treat and cuddles with her late pup, Lilli. Caryll was blessed with having her daughter, Sheryl who she was so very proud. Her daughter’s success was something Caryll loved sharing with others. Watching her grown into the woman she is today is something Caryll was thankful to witness.

Not only did Caryll have her biological family but she also had many “adopted” family members who loved her like she was their own blood. The numerous friends Caryll made through her time in the Lions Club, visiting the local library, the NAPA stores and her husband’s time working with Thomas-Little Funeral Home, they truly became her second family.

Surviving Caryll are her daughter, Sheryl Linck (Garry Conklin) of Tennessee, and her eldest sister, Barbara Kenneweg of Virginia.

Along with her parents, Caryll is preceded in death by the love of her life, Gene Linck (April 19, 2022) and siblings, Ernest Ehler, Sue Black, David Erdenbrack and Richard Ehlers.

A Service will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017. All are asked to arrive at the Cemetery the day of the service between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Lions Club International Fund, in memory of Caryll.
