Obituary for Carol A. Gardiner (Gilleskie)

Carol Gardiner, 68 of McDonald, PA passed on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at UPMC Mercy after a brief illness.

She was born on July 28, 1954, in Heidelberg, PA, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Gilleskie.

In March 1971 she married her best friend, Edward Gardiner, who survives. Together they built a beautiful life together full of love, laughter and traveling! Carol was affectionately known as the Craft Lady. She was well known at local festivals and craft shows where she sold her beautiful handmade holiday crafts and arrangements for over 40 years. Christmas for the Gardiner’s began in February, when Carol and Edward would began the tedious work of creating crafts and arrangements for the upcoming holiday. Once the craft show came around, that meant Carol was on the road. She and her husband would travel to just about every show possible, even traveling out of state for shows. Carol was able to enjoy creating, which she loved doing so much, with the love of her life. More than anything or any creation, Carol loved her family. They were the utmost important people in her life. There was always a smile or a laugh to be shared when they were altogether and the memories that were created will be cherished forever.

In addition to her husband, Carol leaves behind a daughter Pamela (Michael) Housley, son Gary Gardiner, and sister Shirley Trautman.

All arrangements are private and entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald (724-926-2800).
