Obituary for Beverly May "Dolly" Werner (Allison)

Beverly “Dolly” May Allison Werner, 79, of Oakdale, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, in her home, surrounded by her family.

Dolly was born on October 18, 1943, in Sturgeon, a daughter of the late, Clarence and Helen Rance Allison.

Mrs. Werner spent 30 years working at the Pittsburgh Commissary bagging groceries. Being that her son is in the military, Beverly loved helping out other military families. Dolly’s family was her utmost main priority. She was the matriarchy of her large family and had a special relationship with each and every member. Many weekends and holidays, Dolly would spend camping with her family. That time together allowed for many special memories to be made. Those weekends may have consisted of a very competitive side of Dolly, especially when the cards and bingo came out. Bingo was more of a sport to Dolly than a game, and everyone knew that! She would make sure that she always came out on top, leaving for a tremendous amount of laughter and fun shared by all.

Dolly loved seeing her family grow into what it is today and their success was what she loved being a part of the most. Dolly never missed a school event, sports game, graduation or wedding. She loved being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and doggy grandma. Her two four-legged grandchildren, Benny and Bella, always brightened her day when they came to visit. Dolly’s whole family kept her so young and full of that special Dolly love that everyone will miss.

Surviving are her children; Kimberly (Duane) Slaney, Jeffrey Sutton, Shawn (Kathy) McKay, Jamie (Steve) McKay-Longstreath, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, siblings, Jeanne Klien, Peggy (Ken) Schmac, Kenny Allison, Sylvester (Barb) Kessler Jr., and Ralph (Kathy) Kessler.

Along with her parents, Dolly is preceded in death by her husband, John Werner (2011), son, Jimmy Sutton, siblings, Judith Allison, Dale Kessler and Lori Kessler.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Noblestown Rd., Oakdale (724-693-2800). A Service will be held following the viewing at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Dolly’s family would like to thank their Aunt Barb Kessler, for all her help with their mother and grandmother in the past weeks. You were her angel!
