Obituary for Adeline M. Slovick (Torek)

Adeline M. (Torek) Slovick, 97, of Sturgeon, North Fayette Township, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Heritage Valley Hospital.

Mrs. Slovick was born on January 29, 1925, in Sturgeon a daughter of the late James and Mary (Penczek) Torek.

Adeline was a retired county clerk for the Allegheny County Treasurers Office. She was also a devout member of St. Patrick’s Church in Noblestown and a member of the Christian Mothers Association. Mrs. Slovick was a caring and loving woman and there was nothing she loved more than her family. Growing up in a large family, Adeline knew the importance of raising a family that truly loved each other. She was so proud of the family that she and her late husband had raised and Adeline could say her family was full of love. Mrs. Slovick cherished her time that she was able to spend with her family, and those moments were always filled with a lot of love and laughter.

Surviving are her children, James (LaVerne) Slovick, Mitzi Davis, Dennis (Alicia) Slovick, ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, siblings, Frances Golojuch, Jerry (Rose) Torek, and daughter-in-law Mary Jo Slovick.

Along with her parents, Adeline is preceded in death by her loving husband, Anthony S. Slovick (2002), son David A. Slovick, siblings, Joseph Torek, Jane McDonough, Agnes Dennison, Albert Pieron, John Pieron, Frank Pieron, and Stella Finger, son-in-law James Davis.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Noblestown Rd., Oakdale (724693-2800). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish – St. Patrick’s Worship Site at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the West Allegheny Food Bank or your local food bank.
