KATHLEEN MARY GAITENS

Kathleen Mary Gaitens, age 96, passed away on November, 11. 2018 at the Hillhaven Nursing and Rehabilitating Center in Adelphi, Maryland. Kathleen was born on January 12, 1922 to Thomas H. McGregor and Elizabeth Callahan McGregor. Kathleen was the youngest and last surviving of four sisters Elizabeth Wagner, Eleanor Gaitens and Anna Rose Erbrecht. She was raised in Washington, Pennsylvania by her Aunt Agnes Callahan Little and her husband Cornelius Little after losing her parents at an early age.

Kathleen was a telephone operator before marrying Philip M. Gaitens now deceased. They raised four children, Virginia (Tim) Clair of Columbia, Maryland, John Gaitens of Los Angeles, California and Daniel and Philip Gaitens, both deceased. She was a long time resident of McDonald, Pennsylvania. Kathleen is also survived by grandchildren Kathleen (David Simmons) and Michael Clair and great grandchildren, Claire and Luke Simmons.

Kathleen was a beautiful, spunky woman who loved life, music, dancing, laughter, chocolate, babies, dogs and flowers. She was a longtime member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Noblestown, Pennsylvania.

Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald (724-926-2800). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick R. C. Church, 7322 Noblestown Road, Oakdale, PA. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
